Scandle Candle’s Shimmering Lotion Candle Review

The idea of the Scandle Candles sounded cool. If in fact, they worked like they are supposed to. Then I heard they were introducing a Shimmering Lotion Candle. I love anything that shimmers or sparkles. So when I was offered the chance to try Scandle Candle’s new Shimmering Lotion Candle, I was all too willing.

What makes Scandle Candles unique from other candles is that Scandle Candles can be lit for fragrance, BUT, it’s also a perfect massage oil or body lotion.  Yea, that’s right, two purposes. The Shimmering Lotion Candle gives your skin a natural shimmer.  It can mask wrinkles and skin imperfections by deflecting light.  As I stated earlier, it’s also a great moisturizer and scented candle.

So my first thought was, “ok if you light it, blow it out, then apply it to your skin, won’t it be unbearably hot?!”  The answer is no. Scandle Candles burn at only 2 degrees above our normal body temperature.  It’s also great for a cuticle treatment during manicures and pedicures.

The Shimmering Lotion Candle scent  I received from Scandle Candle was Copa Cabana in the convenient travel tin size.  This small travel tin packed a nice scent. We lit it in the the bedroom.  The entire bedroom filled with the Copa Cabana scent within 10 minutes.

My husband agreed to be my test subject.  I really wondered how easy it would be to work with during a massage.  I’m still in the frame of mind of a “regular” candle at this point thinking “won’t it start to harden?”, I’m sure it’s not going to lubricate well.”  Well I was wrong on both accounts.  Scandle Candle recommends letting the Shimmering Lotion Candle burn for 30 minutes or until it metls to the sides of the container.  You then blow out the candle.  You can pour the melted candle into your hand and use. It was a great massage oil.  With one small palm full i was able to massage his back and arms completely and for about 10 minutes.  At this point I didn’t tell him it was a Shimmering Lotion Candle because I was afraid he wouldn’t let me use it on him lol.

So then it was my turn.  The Shimmering lotion felt wonderful on my back.  It did not leave my skin feeling oily.  Instead my skin felt quenched.  The tropical sent of Copa Cabana was pleasant and lingered on my skin.  I applied some to my hand so you could see the subtle shimmer the Shimmering lotion leaves.

The Scandle Candle Shimmering Lotion Candle tin has an elastic band bracelet with the phrase “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle” that you can wear after the candle is gone.

Buy it:  You can buy your own Shimmering Lotion Scandle Candle on their website: www.scandlecandle.com  or look on their site to find a retailer.

Review Summary:  I enjoyed the Scandle Candle Shimmering Lotion Candle. The fact that the candle serves several purposes and really works like it’s supposed to makes this a great value.  This would be an excellent gift for the upcoming holidays. This is unique way to add a little romance.  Would be great for so many purposes.
