I received the below mentioned product in order to complete an honest review. Any opinions expressed are my own. This post does contain affiliate links, regardless I only post legitimate offers from rusted sites.
We have 2 cats. Sisters from the same litter. They’re approaching 7.5 years old now. They’re also quite spoiled. They lay around everywhere but particularly like the windows. We recently moved. Most the window sills in our new house are a bit wider than the ones at our old house so they could sit comfortably. I’ve seen those cat window seats though and always wondered if our cats would like them.
I received this Window Mounted Cat Bed to review with my cats. When I first took it out of the box, it seemed kinda flimsy. Both of our cats have a few extra pounds on them and the one is quite big. I thought there is no way these plastic bars and suction cups are holding up my sumo cat. Though it does say it holds up to 50 lbs.
The instructions lefts something to be desired. The instructions were moderate quality black and white pictures. It was written in broken English so it was hard to follow. In the end I did get it together within about 10 minutes but I still wasn’t convinced it was going to hold my cats weight. There is also a YouTube video you can watch for instructions which is a little better.
There are large suctions cups that attach to the window in 4 different points. Helpful tips: clean the window and allow to dry then slightly dampen the suctions cups to get them to stick better. It doesn’t say this in the directions but I’ve used that trick before to get suction cups to stick better.
The cables are thin metal cables that, in itself, are pretty strong. It’s just the frame of the cat bed itself that seems like it could be sturdier. When I was getting ready for bed, I walked through the house and found this.
She seems to like it. She slept there for quite a while. I did notice this morning that one of the white pipes became detached from the one suction cup. There’s a nub on the big suction cup that slides into the pipes of the frames on both sides. It’s been up for about 2 days now. In fact, the one cat is sleeping on it again as I type this post.
This particular Window Mounted Cat Bed comes in gray and blue. You can order it in single bed or double bed packs. I honestly felt like $17 was a bit much for these cat beds, I would have been more comfortable with a $10-$12 price point. It has been working and my cats have been enjoying it. In the end, I got the end result.
