So glad I stayed up and heard the news: #BinLadenIsDead

I was getting ready to shut down my computer for the night.  When hubby exclaims “Bin Laden is Dead?!” I was confused, I hadn’t heard that.  Sure enough there in my yahoo headlines is that very phrase.

As a general rule of thumb I don’t like to celebrate death but I think I can make an exception for this moment.  How many troops have been away from their families, years of Bin Laden hiding away like the coward he is.  Our troops finally got him!

While it’s a victory I know it’s not the end of it.  There are more nuts to come.  We can be happy to finally get the one that started 9/11.

My husband spent a number of years in Iraq doing his time to fight in this war.  He’s been home for a few years thankfully but there are many who are not.

Regardless of what politcal beliefs one follows I think we can all unite to thank our troops for this moment and take pride in America.

I’m off to watch our president speak now.  Just had to make this post for such a milestone in this long war.
